Thanks to everyone for nominating EAC/ACB members for this special honour last spring. The team at Zoomer magazine many great nominees to consider. At the end of the process, one of our former EAC/ACB presidents, Beryl Burnett, was named as EAC/ACB's Ultimate Zoomer!
Beryl is in the issue of Zoomer that hit newsstands on August 5. By taking part in the Ultimate Zoomer! process, EAC/ACB is able to reach the entire ZoomerMedia audience. It's our chance to show them what we're about.
Congratulations to Beryl!
The project that we had called Project 150 has a new name and has been officially accepted into the Government of Canada's Crown Collection. In early May, the project lead, Helen McCrindle, received word that the Canadian Embroidery Tapestry was accepted.
More than 650 Canadians of all ages and origins threaded needle on the project and more than 8,000 hours of work were recorded.
EAC/ACB Member Phyllis Borgdorff's Sampler (in progress)
We are halfway through the 2019 stitch-a-long mystery sampler. Are you taking part? If you haven't started yet, there is lots of time. There is a Facebook page where people are sharing their samplers. Check it out! The instructor, Karen Dearborn, is sharing lots of great information and images on the Facebook page, too.
The monthly installments end on December 1, 2019. They will remain available to members until March 1, 2020.
Yes, it's that time — an enthusiastic team in British Columbia ++, lead by Linda Brenner, will host Seminar 2021. Thank you to the many volunteers who stepped up to make this happen!
We are seeking classes in all threaded needle techniques — contemporary as well as traditional — and at all levels of proficiency. Project classes, notebook classes and classes which allow experimentation would be welcome additions, as would instruction in design and colour. We are requesting proposals in all areas of needle arts that would fit this bill, including dyeing, painting, design, etc. at all levels of experience.
