Basic Courses

Basic courses have six lessons and take 12 months to complete. The cost is $125 per course. Previous training is not required. If you would like your binder reviewed on completion of your course, there is a $45 administrative fee payable at that time. If you wish to advance to Intermediate, Advanced or Teacher Certificate courses, you must have your binder reviewed. Basic Courses

Intermediate Courses

Intermediate courses consist of eight lessons, require 18 months to complete, and are $160 per course. If you would like your binder reviewed on completion of your course, there is a $45 administrative fee payable at that time. If you wish to take the Advanced or Teacher Certificate courses, you must have your binder reviewed.

Prerequisites: EAC Basic Course or equivalent from other recognized organization or institution, or as noted. Or, you may submit a minimum of three detailed slides or pictures of different pieces of your work in the technique for which you are applying, plus one unmounted piece showing a variety of stitches. The Education Director, in consultation with the Education Committee, will consider your application based on your submission. Intermediate Courses

Advanced courses consist of eight lessons, take 18 months to complete and are $160 per course. If you wish to take the Teacher Certificate course, you must have your binder reviewed.

Teacher Certificate Programme

This four-part course in Reading, Course Design, Writing and Research, and Examination takes up to two years to complete. The cost is $500. Guideline for Student Levels


Beginners are those who need guidance in reading stitch patterns or who are new to the technique.

Intermediate students understand stitch patterns but may need guidance; have taken this technique or similar one at the beginner or basic level; have a beginning understanding of colour and design.

Advanced students read charts and stitch diagrams with ease, have a good understanding of stitch technique; have good understanding of colour and design. Must have taken an intermediate level course in the technique. Must be able to work independently.
