Schwalm Embroidery is a beautiful form of Whitework Embroidery consisting of some Surface Embroidery, Drawn Threadwork, Pulled Threadwork and Hemstitching. We will embroider a cushion cover design including heart, tulip and circle motifs, Blanket Stitch scallops and Satin Stitch with filling stitches that include Coral Knot and Chain Stitch, Rose Stitch, King Stitch and Cording Stitch Bars, Eyelet variations, Ground Stitch and Needlelace circles.

Student will supply: Small sharp pointed scissors; thimble (if you use one); 4" (10 cm) or 5" (12.5 cm) hoop and an awl. A light, magnifier and small white or light-coloured hand towel may be useful as well.
